| Spain and Morocco |
This is my first trip overseas. I will attend a conference in Valencia, Spain, then meet up with my friend, Pram, and visit Barcelona, Spain, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Fes in Morocco, and back to Madrid. All told, we spent about one month between the two countries. |
| My American Tour |
My American Tour is my first cross-country trip from coast to coast. It is also my first serious attempt at a travelogue. My friend Andy and I spend 36 days on the road and covered 25 states over 12,000 miles. |
| East Meets West |
Two trips in one: a few days in New York City with my friends Yuri and Lena, then Lena flies to Kiev while Yuri and I travel to Colorado and Utah. |
| Delphi, Center of the Universe |
Delphi is a mountain town beside the most important ancient ruin in Greece. I was going to see the ruin by was charmed by the town. |
| Nafplio, Venetian City By the Sea |
Nafplio is a quaint seaside town on the Peloponnesus. It was built by the Venetians when their empire stretched to these parts, so the buildings have a Venetian style. It is said Nafplio is the most romantic city in Greece. |
| Silver Linings |
It's the beginning of summer, 1996, and I am taking my sister Suzanne up to Saxtons River, Vermont for her summer stock gig. She will spend the summer in Vermont performing in a small-town theater company. We decided to take our time and explore New England on our way to Vermont. |
| The Grand Staircase |
Driving between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef is the giant Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument. It's in a lower, more arid part of south-central Utah. |
| Monasteries of Meteora |
I drove up to Meteora, a cluster of monasteries perched high atop narrow rock outcrops. The geology and the monasteries on them are equally impressive. |
| Day 24: Mt. St. Helens |
We stayed with Andy's friends last night in Eugene, Oregon. The clouds rolled in, but we were not deterred from visiting Mount Saint Helens today. |
| Valencia |
Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain and was a wonderful place to start my first overseas journey. |
