West Fork Trail, Sedona

The West Fork Trail is outside Sedona Arizona in the Coconino National Forest and the Red Rock/Secret Mountain Wilderness. It follows the west fork of Oak Creek, which carved this canyon about 9 million years ago.

Often, the canyon walls around the river are concave arcs. Some call these formations “the subway” for their tunnel-like appearance. It was a beautiful hike.

Zion

This one, with the nook in the sandstone, is actually in Zion National Park, but I’m sneaking it in here because it fits thematically with the others.
