Fort Tryon Park
I recently walked from Inwood, at the tippy-top of Manhattan, to my house, which is about 50 blocks south. Along the way, I decided to take pictures in Washington Heights and in Fort Tryon Park.
The entrance from Dyckman Street leads one up a steep, shady path. Along the way, I spotted a groundhog, or woodchuck, in the forest.

The highlight of Fort Tryon is the Heather Garden, a constantly blooming flower garden on the bluffs above the Hudson River. It's a beautiful setting, particularly on a sunny spring day like today.

The George Washington Bridge is a main player in this neighborhood. It is the local landmark, in case you lose your way.
